Theatre in Video contains more than 250 definitive performances of the world's leading plays, together with more than 100 film documentaries, online in streaming video - more than 500 hours in all. This release contains 242 titles, representing hundreds of leading playwrights, actors and directors. Included are landmark performances such as The Iceman Cometh, King Lear, Awake and Sing, Dom Juan, Berenice, Long Day's Journey Into Night, Playboy of the Western World, Krapp's Last Tape and Othello, among many others. Notable actors include Claire Bloom, Laurence Olivier, Colleen Dewhurst, Richard Dreyfuss, Walter Matthau, Meryl Streep, Eli Wallach, Zoe Caldwell, Sam Waterston and more.

Search Tips:

• It is possible to use this database to create playlists and clips. To do this you must register with the database and login. You can do this in the bar at the top of the page under register and then log in. These playlists will be available every time you log in and can be shared with other users.
• You can browse for videos using Theatre in Video's different categories. Click on one of the categories that in the left-hand column of the Home, Browse and Playlists sections, and the screen will refresh to show video tracks in that category (or you will be asked for more information where relevant e.g. to choose a performer). When browsing, results are returned in alphabetical order (Special characters, numbers, A-Z) Once you have entered a category, you can refine your selection by choosing one of the sub-categories offered. You can continue to refine (narrow) a search until there are no more sub-categories available. Clicking on another category on the left hand menu will start a new browse.
